Pre – Development Engineer

I’m working with an award-winning Housing Developer to recruit a Pre-Development Engineer.

You will coordinate the predevelopment stages of new build housing sites across Devon & Cornwall.

With a continued expansion plan we are looking for a suitably experienced applicant who will report to the Technical Manager, ideally have experience in geotechnical reports and requirements, drainage and highways design, and have awareness of structural engineering.

The role:

• Work with the land, planning, and commercial team in the pre-development stages of new sites
• Application of sewer requisitions (S98).
• Review technical information and pull together technical reports for land bids and acquisition packs.
• Produce constraint plans for site layouts to be effectively designed.
• Produce initial drainage strategy working with external consultants.
• Manage external consultants across design stages from bid, and planning to site working drawings.
• Review roads/sewers and external works designs for value engineering
• Competent in reviewing engineering information (levels/cut and fill etc)
• Application of utility supplies/diversion quotes and designs.
• Attend planning, pre-tender, and pre-start meetings as required.

What you need:

• Construction/engineering related HNC/HND/Degree.
• Experience in a similar role with an understanding of geotechnical, drainage, and highways
• Excellent organisational and admin skills.
• Ability to self-motivate and work on one’s own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Reliable with a proactive, personable, hands-on, and positive approach.
• Have requisite IT skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Full driving licence.
