We are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a reputable contractor in Carmarthen on a permanent contract.

Our client delivers significant housing and infrastructure projects in the region and employs around 50 people in Southwest Wales. Committed to regional development, they offer a long pipeline of work and career growth opportunities.

What They’re Looking For:

✅ Strong understanding of construction details, materials, and emerging technologies.
✅ Experience working with site teams to quantify materials and align with programme requirements.
✅ Proven negotiation skills when liaising with suppliers.
✅ Ability to manage project budgets in collaboration with Quantity Surveyors.
✅ Proficiency in Microsoft Office & procurement software.
✅ Team player with the ability to work independently.
✅ Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
✅ Ideally based in Swansea or West Wales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure construction materials, plant, and subcontractor services.
• Negotiate pricing and contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships.
• Collaborate with site teams to forecast material requirements.
• Manage purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.
• Stay updated on market trends and supply chain developments.
