Location: Plymouth, Devon & Cornwall

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + Car Allowance

Company Overview

Sphere Solutions are recruiting for a highly experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to join a reputable client based in Plymouth. Our client operates across the Housing, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial sectors. They specialise in general refurbishments such as roofing, fire protection, and more, serving both public and private sectors across Devon & Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a variety of projects, including MOD refurbishments, NHS properties, social housing, and schools.

Key Responsibilities

As a Contracts Manager, your role will include the following duties:

• Oversee operational management of contracts and ensure timely project delivery
• Compile Construction Phase Plans and Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Assist with pre-construction, tendering, and commercial activities
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the supply chain
• Monitor contract performance, project progress, and risk management
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Manage and allocate resources, including direct labour and subcontractors
• Develop and monitor project timelines and programming of works

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Trade background (construction or similar)
• Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification
• First Aid at Work certification
• Experience in compiling RAMS and Construction Phase Plans
• Proven ability to manage projects ranging from £1,000 to £500,000
• Strong understanding of contract conditions and industry regulations

Other Considerations

• Open to candidates with relevant junior experience in contracts management
• Flexible to live in either Devon or Cornwall and work across multiple sites
• Competitive salary of £50,000 – £55,000 plus a Car Allowance
