Job Title: Head of Decarbonisation and Energy Services

Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications)

Introduction

Sphere Solutions is partnering with a highly successful and long-established property maintenance and refurbishment contractor to recruit a Head of Decarbonisation and Energy Services. This exciting opportunity offers a leadership role where you will oversee the successful delivery of decarbonisation projects, lead high-performing teams, and drive the expansion of the company’s market presence nationwide.

Role Overview

As the Head of Decarbonisation and Energy Services, your primary responsibility will be to lead the execution of key decarbonisation projects, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and are completed on time and within budget. You will be expected to lead and mentor teams, develop strategic initiatives, and enhance the company’s market standing.

Please note that this role requires significant travel across the UK, including overnight stays and time spent on the road between offices and sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of decarbonisation projects from inception through to completion
• Develop, mentor, and manage high-performing teams to ensure project success
• Implement and improve strategies to enhance the company’s market presence in energy services
• Oversee project performance, ensuring targets are met, costs are controlled, and quality is maintained
• Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and expectations
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to address challenges in decarbonisation and energy efficiency

Essential Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants must have the following:

• CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management & Leadership or equivalent
• Higher-level qualifications in construction or a similar discipline
• Proven experience in a similar leadership role within decarbonisation, energy services, or construction
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pitman Excel Certification is advantageous)
• CSCS Manager’s Card
• Strong experience in leading teams through change and navigating complex challenges

Desirable Skills

• Strong understanding of decarbonisation initiatives and energy efficiency projects
• Experience in property maintenance and refurbishment projects
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
