Sphere Solutions is partnering with a highly regarded house builder to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on residential developments across Devon and Cornwall, managing multiple sites and ensuring successful project delivery.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide comprehensive commercial and financial support across the business. This is a key position within the commercial team, offering autonomy and career progression within a well-established developer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Oversee all aspects of surveying from project inception through to completion.
• Negotiation & Procurement: Work with new and existing suppliers to secure fair pricing for materials, labour, and plant.
• Financial Management:
  • Manage subcontractor payments and valuations.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and cost reporting.
  • Produce monthly valuations to ensure project profitability.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and support Trainee Quantity Surveyors within the team.
• Contract Administration: Ensure all contractual obligations are met while identifying and managing any risks or disputes.

Key Requirements:

✅ Minimum 4 years’ experience working for a house builder.
✅ Strong understanding of residential construction and commercial project management.
✅ Experience using COINS or similar surveying software.
✅ Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
✅ Relevant industry qualification (preferred).
✅ Ability to work effectively within a structured team environment.

Role Structure:

This is a hybrid role, combining:
Office-based work at the Exeter regional office.
Site visits across Devon & Cornwall.
Home-based flexibility where required.
