Sphere Solutions are currently working with a large family-owned civil engineering company that is recruiting for an experienced Site Agent on a permanent basis. They have just secured a £25 million scheme starting in April with a programme of 18 months.

Our client provides civil engineering services to almost two-thirds of the country from their offices in Suffolk, Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire, Kent and Hampshire. They specialise in the following sectors:

• Highways
• Bridges
• River & Marine
• Utilities & Energy
• Environmental

Their average length of service sits at 11 years which is something they are very proud of given that they have over 315 employees. They actively encourage career development of their staff through various mentoring and ICE Training Schemes.

The Role:

• To efficiently manage; safety, quality, cost, and programme performance on a project or assist a project manager on a large-scale project.

The Candidate:

• Previous civil engineering experience (drainage, highways, groundworks, structures)
• S278 or S38 experience
• You need to be driven and self-motivated with a good work ethic.
• You must be willing to learn and continue your development.
• Being a team player is essential to the role.
• Clean UK driving license
• Live within an hour’s radius of Ipswich

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree Qualified
• NVQ Level 4 in Construction Management or equivalent
• SMSTS
• CSCS Black
• First Aid
• Temporary Works Co-Ordinator
• Appointed Person – Excavator Only
• Management of Confined Space
• IOSH Management of Buried Services
• Contractual Knowledge
• Able to produce/update programmes using ASTA Powerproject
• Able to read and understand drawings, BoQ’s and specifications
• Able to understand plant/labour/materials/subcontract allowances
