This role requires a healthcare professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on ensuring the well-being of all site personnel.
The Site Nurse will be a key part of the health and safety team, providing medical support, promoting workplace health, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
Medical Support:
- Provide first aid and emergency medical care to site workers as required.
- Manage and maintain the onsite medical facility, ensuring all equipment and supplies are stocked and in good working order.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Conduct health assessments for site personnel as necessary, including pre-employment and periodic health checks.
- Participate in site safety briefings and toolbox talks to promote health awareness.
Incident Management:
- Respond promptly to accidents and incidents on-site, documenting and reporting as per company procedures.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventative measures.
Health Promotion and Training:
- Develop and implement health promotion initiatives, including awareness campaigns on fatigue, hydration, mental health, and other relevant topics.
- Provide training and advice on occupational health and first aid to site personnel.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, incidents, and medical supplies.
- Provide regular reports to the project management team on health trends and recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (NMC Registration).
- Valid First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience in occupational health or working in a construction/site-based environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications in occupational health, health and safety, or emergency care.
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
