They have an exciting opportunity for a Town Planner to join their friendly team in Exeter.

About the role….

  • Take responsibility for delivering profitable development opportunities to meet targets and programmes
  • Progress and manage the planning processes
  • Provide town planning advice
  • Assess planning risks prior to land purchase, considering all planning issues and investigate to quantify any risks
  • Consider all planning issues in connection with the land e.g. archaeological, ecological, highways, services, TIA’s, EIA’s, BNG, etc
  • Attend meetings with Parish Councils and other bodies as appropriate.
  • Assess and respond to Committee agendas / reports and represent the Company at planning committees
  • Ensure that the Development Director is advised of all matters at all times
  • Liaise with in-house or external architects
  • Prepare project development assessments

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

  • Relevant and recent experience in a similar role within housing
  • Good knowledge of local Authority policy requirements
  • Good relationships with relevant local Authorities and Planning Consultants
  • Member of the RTPI of degree level in T&C planning

Duties:

  • Assist with the management of the site team and the supervision of sub-contractors
  • Co-ordination of all sub-contractors and directly employed staff
  • Assist the Site Manager in driving production of the site, building to programme and budget
  • Ensure a high level of health and safety at all times
  • Liaise with the NHBC

Suitable candidate:

  • Proven track record in house building at a similar level
  • Strong organisational and communication skills are also required
  • SMSTS, First Aid at Work and CSCS card
  • Able to work with an experienced team to assist the development of yourself and others
